2nd Attempt: Day 199. Running back down the road. Monday 11th October 2010, 34.8km, Steps 42253 (10/11/2010)

As D worked late into the night on the reschedule she awoke a little bit later than usual so we hit the road after breakfast at about 9am. This really isn’t such a great idea as in the heat and humidity up here by 9am it’s already uncomfortable and usually by this time D would have a large chuck of her run under her belt. Luckily for us the day was a little cooler day, only 36 degrees instead of the usual 37 but the humidity was high. Due to the overnight rained there were puddles of water everywhere, so I had a lot of fun jumping and splashing in the water but even with the water after about 5kms it was getting to hot for my paws out on the road so I jumped into the truck to cool off in the air – con.

D did a solid days running, I got the impression that she is keen to get this section of the run over and done with ASAP as she had that head down don’t bother me look about her today. I really can’t blame her as this is the 5th time in her life that D is running/walking the Darwin to Katherine road she really must be over it by now. We arrived at Hayes Creek and again they allowed us to stay behind the roadhouse, D had a swim in the pool to cool off whilst I relaxed in air-condition comfort.
As night fell the dark grey clouds rolled in and the wind picked up we battened down for the night in our big pink Regent Home and slept out the storm.
Running with you soon.
