2nd Attempt: Day 115. Changing teams. Monday 19th July 2010, 60.7km, Steps 69524  (7/19/2010)

We left the Billabong Roadhouse on a cold but clear morning and as we travelled down the road towards our breakfast stop I notice that the landscape was changing as we moved north, becoming less dense, with drier scrubs and grasses and the red soil of outback Australia.

After breakfast I decided to enhance my nature hair colour by having a good roll in the red dirt, I am now a red and black dog instead of black and white. Does this mean I have chance teams? No I’m still black and white and true blue and will always be “Pink” at heart.
The morning past and we arrived at the Overlander Roadhouse where we met a group of bikies who were from Victoria and motor cycling around Australia and wanted to take lots of photos of me and my new look.
After we consumed some Roadhouse chips (What a treat) we were on our way once again. Not far up the Highway and a road-train pulled up, it was Bill a truck driver and friend of Merienne from Perth. Bill drives from Perth to Fortescue Mine three times a week and has been keeping tabs on us as we run up the highway. As he will be taking Merienne back to Perth on Saturday when her time with us is up he pulled over to see where we will be. As D is now about a day and a half ahead of schedule we think we will be pass Carnarvon so it will be a roadside pick up, talk about personal chauffeured service.
We ran on until D had reached her target for the day, 60 plus kms and pulled off into a parking bay for the night to some much needed R & R.
Running with you soon.
