2nd Attempt: Day 79. A friendly girlie chat on the road. Sunday 13th June 2010, 44.4km, Steps 48774 (6/13/2010)

We were all cosy in the hotel room and with the alarm in the pink van the sun was well and truly up before D and I woke in the morning, so we hit the highway a lot later than usual.

We were not long on the road when a car pulled over, it was Denise, the lady who had bought D & Glyn a beer, left the rose and doggy bikkie last night for our arrival at the Gibson Soak Hotel. Denise had also been a victim of cancer, not breast, but tongue and was involved in the local Esperance cancer group and relay for life team. Denise drove her 4WD along side the road, whilst D and I ran along side and us girls really hit it off and had a great chat for about 7kms.   Denise is a real character, who isn’t short for a word or too and she told D that after the cancer her tongue gets tired. D and I had a little giggle as we both thought that Denise’s tongue was probably tired from talking too much then from anything else. D shared these thought with Denise and they had a good laugh together.
We all arrived at the pink van and Denise signed our witness book and after she left D ran onto Esperance and beyond as D wanted to reach the Ravensthorpe 165 kms sign and around dusk she reached her goal and believe it or not there was a parking Bay at the 165 kms sign, how lucky is that?
Now is time for some yummy, yummy food in the tummy and off the poach Palace for the night.
Running with you soon.
