2nd Attempt: Day 52: Mother daughter time, well sort of. Monday 17th 2010, 48.1km, Steps 57269. (5/17/2010)

At dusk D, her mum and I, left Shelly Beach Caravan Park in Big Pink and drove to the start point in down town Ceduna where D had GPS off yesterday. Due to Ceduna being the last big-ish town for about 1100 kms Glyn had to refuel little pink with diesel, gas for the gas bottles, petrol for generators etc so he had to do some running around before her got to us, so D’s mum would look after her until he came and then return to Ceduna for fundraising.

As the girls hadn’t had much opportunity to be together alone D and her mum decided that if a place was open they would get a coffee and sit for some mother/daughter time, they found the local bakery open and were having a coffee when a group of Ceduna women arrived as they were looking for D this morning so they could be on the road with her and goodbye. Instead of spending some time on the road with D they all sat and we had a coffee together and after the cups were empty D and I ran off thinking what a wonderful community Ceduna is and how thoughtful the people are.  It got me thinking that it really only takes small gestures to make people feel good and how these small gestures make you feel that the world is a friendly place. Maybe the law makers of this world should create a law that everyday, everyone needs to do an act of kindness to another imagine what the world would be like if this happened? I do an act of kindness everyday I give D a doggy lick.
Surrounded by good cheer from the mornings events D and had a good solid run only stopping for refuelling ourselves when little pink arrived back and D gave her mum a kiss as she wouldn’t see her for a day.   We continued running across the endless plains until we found a nice big gravel pit 25kms east of Penong to spend the night at. Whilst Glyn set up camp and D read her countless emails I tucked into some VIP’s with milk then off to the pooch palace for the night.
Running with you soon.
