2nd Attempt: Day 35: I love running in our great country. Friday 30th April 2010, 40.7km, Steps 48738. (4/30/2010)

As we ran out of Yacka on a chilli morning the sun began to emerge over the distant hills, as it spread it’s light across the wheat stubble fields, a pale yellow glow transformed this vast landscape into a vibrant visual wonderland, its horizon line shaped by the clear blue sky, the skies infinite blueness broken only by a silvery full moon. This is why we love to run, being out in the Australian landscape with no towns, no cars, no phones and no shops, just a girl and her dog. As we head north into the more remote parts of Australia I can feel my doggy heart getting excited, the outback is coming and I just love being out there, I love the solitude, the isolation, the vast distances between places and the sheer beauty of the landscape, I think it’s the best part of running around this great country of ours.

As our day of running unfolds we came to the township, Narridy which consisted of 2 houses, a church, a hall and a CFS but no people anywhere to witness us crossing our 1500km mark, D and I celebrated with D’s favourite snack Vita-Weat and cheese. We ran on to Crystal Brook a quaint rural town with a very nice caravan park which is a great place to end the day in the shade of a big old gumtree and the man who ran the park to our surprise had gone around the town and collected donations for our cause what a trooper and thanks a million.
Mmm, I can smell some VIP loaf for dinner, so I’m off to eat, one of my favourite pastimes, and then it’s time to catch some zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Running with you soon.
