2nd Attempt: Day 18: Friends added to Maggie´s personal page and the first good solid day. Tuesday 13th April 2010, 51.2km, Steps 60402. (4/13/2010)

As D headed off into the dawn we knew it was going to be big day running as we needed to be in Mt Gambier tomorrow by 4pm for some official meet and greet stuff and it was still 90+ kms away. Luckily D’s blisters, thanks to Malcolm were on the mend so she set a good pace down the road.   A good thing too as the day started and continued to be rather chilly.

All this running, running, running can be a bit tedious at times so I thought I might watch out for my favourite animal friends today to add to my imaginary face book page and who could I add but some Belted Galloways, a Willie wagtails and lots of magpies, more commonly know as maggies.  I think those magpies are copy cats and everyone knows I have the naming rights to “Maggie”.

Seeing all my black and white friends I thought about other animals I liked to add to my page Dalmatians and zebras, even though they are not Aussies, some doves are nice especially the peaceful ones and as I was trotting along beside D a black and white goat come up to us and gave D a bit of a head butt on the bum, it was really funny and the goat was definitely added to my favourite friends list.

After about 50kms D decided that she had achieved enough kilometres for the day and we pulled up on the side of the road at a place called Mumbarrer for the night. D had a big bowl of home made chicken noodle soup which warned her from the day’s cold weather and I had my VIP muesli and then snuck off into my pooch palace under the table in my big pink Regent home.

Running with you soon
