2nd Attempt: Day 10: Running and manifesting. Monday 5th April 2010, 41km, Steps 48552. (4/5/2010)

We left Little River heading for Geelong and before we had run 3kms D’s phone went off and it was our great friend Andy Muirhead from ABC Hobart wanting to know where I was and how I was doing (he secretly just loves me and only talks to D as a side issue). After the interview we pulled over for breakfast, yummy VIP’s and milk, D’s folks then left us to go fundraising in Geelong and we trotted down the road.

As we were running alone D and I got to talking about our philosophies of life and she talked about manifesting, this is where you image, desire, concentrate and believe something will happen and it does. You all may remember that during our first attempt whilst D was in Tasmania she wished one day for fish for dinner and spent all day telling me about this desire and then that night people gave us fresh trout for tea, I just thought it was a coincidence but D believes she had manifested the fish.  D believes in manifesting your destiny and I was yet to be convinced so I looked at her as if to say, oh brother what new age mumbo jumbo! She told me she would prove it and said that she and crew member Glyn both had a desired to one day fine a $10 note on the side of the road as they believe they find coins all the time so why not a $10 note I just rolled my eyes at her and thought she was being a bit nuts. About 1 hour from this conversation we were running into Lara and I just couldn’t believe my eyes there it was a $10 note on the grass just lying there! D bent over a picked it up and smiled down at me and said “See Maggie if you believe it will come”.   Well she now has me convinced,  so now I believe we CAN raise over $300,000 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation and I will be spending all my time on the road focusing on that goal. I guess I will need to find many more $10 notes on the side of the road to achieve this goal but I think I can achieve it by appealing to all Australian’s to give to our cause.
After the $10 epiphany I decided to retire to the back car and start manifesting whilst D trotted along in warm weather the first very real hot day since leaving Tasmania which did cause problems with her feet getting a bit too warm for the blisters but despite D’s feet she did manage to run over 40kms and we have ended the day on the other side of Geelong at a place called Waurn Ponds.
Running with you soon.
