2nd Attempt: Day 5: Home for the briefest moment, Wednesday 31st March 2010, 38.6km, Steps 48585 (3/31/2010)

Hi ho, hi ho it’s off to Launie we go.

With a one step, two step, three step, four the only way to get there is by paw.
I am so excited and I just can’t hide it I’m about to be home and I think I like it!
As you can read I am very happy to in my home town of Launceston today and even though it’s the briefest of visits I just love my town and the fact that I can be home on my blankie for just one more night before I head off on another big adventure around that very big island known as the mainland above my little island home of Tasmania.
This morning our first stop was Perth, Tasmania where the lovely lady @ Perth Pharmacy took some time out to help Deborah with her aligning blister problem and to help her with a developing sore knee.
Deborah who has never had blisters before is starting to really suffer and we think she has developed such bad blisters due to being off the road during her 7 months of recovery from the broken bones therefore her feet have become soft and so hence she now has blister problems. All we can do is try to keep them clean, manage the situation and wait till they heal which is a little difficult as she is on her feet everyday.
About 14kms from Launceston, my daddy (Alistair) comes to greet us and helped me get D to the Launceston Mall where she was greeted by the Launceston Mayor. Luckily I had worn my pink coat for as we entered the mall I realized the place was crawling with television cameras and I do hate to be caught off guard, not looking my best, unlike my shabby travelling companion, you would think D could spruce up her hair or something for the camera.
Once my interviews were over we headed for the house in West Launceston, where a party, in my honour had been organized, yum the trimmings from the boned leg of lamb where very satisfying. Oh it’s great to be a star!
Running with you soon
Maggie (Director of Greeting)
