High kms starting to take their toll. Day 192, 55.3km  (5/4/2009)

We all had a bit of a sleep in this morning, hitting the road around 5.45 am as the sun was coming up. As the day warmed the winds picked up but lucky for us it was a tail wind and it helped push us down the highway. As the day progressed it started to look like another one of those boring days of just running, running, running and by lunch time I was bored, bored, bored so I decided it was time for a nap and I hopped happily into the car. I woke around mid afternoon to see D struggling; the continuous high km and 12 - 14 hour days that we’d been doing were starting to caught up with D and her upper leg muscles were locking up and the pain had settled in. By about 4pm, the crew D and I all took a vote and decided D should end the day early and as luck would have it we were parked at a spot we could stay the night. I made sure D got a massage and afterwards I decided that we girls need a little chat. I could see that D wasn’t in the greatest head space and my concern is when she gets like this see shuts me and the rest of the crew out. She told me that she was just tired and that all would be okay tomorrow, I wasn’t much convince by this so let’s hope her legs have some recovery time and that her mood improves as well.
Running with you soon
