Gifts in the middle of nowhere. Day 191, 71.2km  (5/3/2009)

D and I took off this morning under the light of a half moon; we were heading for the Barkly Homestead Roadhouse, which was some 70 odd km from where we camped. After running for 5 hours we pulled in at Wonarah Bore rest area for lunch and there were lots of other homes away from home there, none like ours, mine and D’s mum and dad are still the only pink ones on the road, so I felt kind of special. The oddest thing happened whilst we were trying to have lunch all these people kept knocking on our door, wanting to give money. People’s generosity and support for our cause often astounds me, here we are in the middle of nowhere and people are continuously giving us donations to help us find a cure for breast cancer, its great stuff and these “gifts” nearly always bring D to tears. I like it as I get lots of pats out of it as well. After lunch we ran on and reached the Barkly Homestead in the dark, we pulled into the caravan park and then the crew took themselves out to dinner for a treat after another very long day on the road.    I had a quiet night at home in my Pink Regent home away from home D put a good dog movies in the DVD for me so I just lay down and watched until I dosed off
