Line dancing. Day 186, 75.6km (4/28/2009)

Today was just a day of running with no real plans, no one to meet and as we head west the landscape and environment has become more and more remote. By early afternoon nothing much had happen to us, the most exciting thing to happen was D had to shoo some cows off the road and we saw some bustards, other than that we just kept running, running, running.   By midafternoon we were both lulled into that silent world of running, the world of listening to our breathing and concentrating on putting one foot in front of the other. I was getting a little bored and tired so to entertain myself I discovered a new trick, running on the white line! Not only is it fun to see if you can stay on the line but its practical too as the line is smoother than the road and not as hot, so it’s a great place to run. Also with my high frequency hearing I can listen to D’s i-Pod, so I too can run to the rhythm of the music whilst trying to stay on the white line. I think I’ll call my new style of running “line dancing”. I line danced on until dusk were we arrived at a road side stop, tired and hungry with over 75.6kms travelled for the day. What a huge run and now all I want is to eat and sleep.
Running with you soon
