A hot spa and a friendly stay. Day 180, 63.6km (4/22/2009)

Today we are headed for Julia Creek. We are running across Savannah Plains with grass and grass and more grass and heat and heat and more heat. As it is now getting very hot in the afternoons with the sun directly on our face I am starting to retired between the hours of 1pm and 4.30pm to escape the heat. Paw D, she  just has to keep going,  luckily when we finally arrived at Julia Creek as the sun set there was a spa for her at the caravan park, this we all hope will help with her hips as she is still in a lot of pain. The Julia Creek caravan park is was a very friendly place as out the front of the park there was a sign that read “No strangers here just friends you haven’t met yet.” Finally a caravan park that loves me!   The spa was warm as it was fed by underground thermals that are found in this region. The water here is so hot that it has to be cooled before everyone can have a shower.  With all the talk lately of environmentally friendly power solutions maybe someone should come up with a way of using this nature energy to produce power. That would help the environment more than taxing people.   After the spa D had a massage and then roasts chicken for dinner, yum! Shut eye time.

Running with you soon
