Imagination gone wild. Day 173, 64.6km (4/15/2009)

A very misty dark morning this morning led to my imagination getting the better of me, as we were running along the road there appeared a huge glow in the mist up ahead; I started to think of the war of the worlds. Oh golly, I thought what would it be? An extraterrestrial dog from outer space come down in their high powered dog kennels to get me. Oh what will I do! What will they do to D? Their not liking my D with those extra tongues that they have. I hear a motor rev up as the light drew closer; my heart was beating fast, my mind going through all sorts of dilemmas. The core light was getting closer and it was very noisy, as the beam of light got close I could hardly breathe with fear, then D said Maggie look out for the train. Oh what a relief it’s only a train. Whew!!! We are safe from the aliens in my mind and as the sun rose my mind became at ease and all was well again. As Saint Frances once said “where there is darkness let there be light”, in the light one doesn’t have scary thoughts and I thank the universe for the light in this world. In the light of day we ran on to Homestead, which consisted of a school, a, general store and handful of houses. The lovely ladies at the general store gave D a donation to help with our cause. We ran on or the Campaspe River where I had a swim and roll in the grass before running on to Pentland to a fantastic welcome from the town’s people and where they took us to the Memorial Hall for sandwiches, cake and a bowl of milk, yummy! More “light” from good souls of the world. I end today wishing you all the light of the world may it fill your hearts and souls with blessing.

Running with you soon
