Tired truck and they still love me. Day 163, 49.7km (4/5/2009)

We woke to a cool morning and ran from Tolga into Atherton were I had hash browns for breakfast at the place of the golden arches and a doggiechino. I little spoil breakfast doesn’t hurt once in a while as long as you exercise and I sure do enough of that!  We had an appointment around midday in Atherton but as we were already there and it was only 6.30am D and I thought we’d run on out of Atherton and drive back for the meeting. Running out of Atherton it was uphill all the way with very little shoulder to escape the traffic, the hill was so steep that our pink truck over heated, poor thing she is getting a little old, in dog years she be 70. I did the right thing and offered her my drinking H20 to cool down. When the truck had recovered we drove back into Atherton to meet at the Lion’s Park where the Atherton Lion’s club were just about to serve lunch and we were the guest of honours and it was a sausage sizzle! Yum my favourite.  Whilst we were having lunch a lady from the local newspaper came and took some photos and D said a few days ago that the paparazzi wouldn’t want me anymore! I turned to give her that “you see, they still love me look” but she just smiled at me in that way she does which makes me feel she understands what I am about to say.  After lunch we drove back to our spot and ran into a rain forest area where we saw the vivid luminous blue Ulysses butterfly, another one of god’s manifestant creations and then onto a gravel pit for the night.

Running with you soon
