An interesting thought and a little piece of home. Day 160, 64.8km (4/2/2009)

We’d run quite a few km’s this morning when we came across a field with an about 100 kangaroos in it. A couple of pairs were boxing each other. Imagine fighting at this hour of the day and wouldn’t it be better to making friends rather than harming someone else. I think kangaroos could learn a thing or two from us dogs, we are really by nature peace loving animals. I did think however, what if I was made like them, I’d probably be hopping around Australia right now and everyone would know me as Maggieroo and I suppose D would be going around Australia on a pogo stick. We could be billed as the Hoppetts or Hopparoos. A black and white Borderoo would be something to see. The stuff Greek legends are made of.  We ran on and dropped down onto the beautiful Captain Cook Hwy where we over looked the Pacific Ocean. What a fantastic view we had for the next 20 or 30 KM, truly Australia at its best. We were having a little rest and admiring the view when a lady pulled up to say hello. She was a long way from home. Home was where? Hobart our final destination!  She wanted to know if we wanted anything taken back to Hobart or whether she could pass on a message to our loved ones back home, as she was going back in a few days. That’s the Tassie spirit, I love and miss we Tasmanian’s are always willing to help and it made me a little home sick. What a sweetie the lady was! We ran on to Mossman where we stayed at the caravan park in my pink Regent Home away from home.

Running with you soon
