Home fixed and cool. Day 133, 34.1km  (3/6/2009)

My pink house leg, which has been sore since its little accident in Brisbane had to be fixed today in Rockhampton, so D and I were without our catering service all day, which is a tad inconvenient as I do love my food.  As we waved good bye to our home this morning we had no time for complaining as we had people to meet in town at midday and needed to get a move on. About 15kilometres from our destination a red car pulled over and it was the ABC radio that had come to do a live interview with us from the road. After our interview, we ran into “Rocky”, as the locals call it, ad came to the marker indicating the Tropic of Capricorn or as D calls it “The croc line”. From here to when we cross this line again in Western Australia, some 8000 kilometres away we are in crocodile territory. I think I’m going to have to be a little careful about my bathing habits from here on in, I really don’t fancy seeing a crocodile smile. We arrived at Stocklands in Rockhampton and were greeted by the Deputy Mayor; she was very well dressed in a black and white suit similar to my outfit, if I didn’t know better I would think she was copying my style after all I am a fashion trend setter. After our official meeting it was off for another photo shoot. Guess what! I got on location and Cheapa was there to meet us. It was great to see his big smiling yellow face again we did our photo shoot very quickly as it was very hot I said my goodbyes to Cheapa as he waved us off from his air conditioner limo, he really is an A grade celebrity. After Cheepa’s departure I was feeling a little blue but my spirits lifted on the return of my pink home with its leg all fixed and with food. Talking about the heat, it is slowly wearing me down, luckily D’s aware of this and to help me cope she went to a shop and brought me a generator so I would have the air conditioner on when we are staying on the side of the road, so tonight we are camped in a spot with the air con on which means a good night sleep for me tonight.
