New support & old friends Day 117, 56.3km  (2/18/2009)

This morning D ran towards Brisbane CBD, as it was peak hour traffic I decided to hang out in the safety of my car until the last minute when I was needed for the mall arrival. I must have nodded off in the car as before I knew it my official pink coat and pink lead were being fitted and I was dragged out of my dreams and car and told to run over the Victoria Bridge towards the mall where D and I were greeted by the Lady Mayoress, Lisa Newman. D had meet Lisa before when D walked around Australia so they struck up a conversation as if they were old buddies from way back and completely ignored me, how rude, doesn’t D know I am the star of the show. Lucky enough the team from Professional Real Estate, who have come on board as new support, were there to give me lots of attention with pats, cuddles and photographs. I felt once again the star when everyone gathered around on a nearby stage to have their photo taken with me all smiles front and centre. After many photos D and I had to get going as we had a long way still to run and as my pink home had a wee accident last night, it had a broken leg and was resting back at the caravan park D was travelling without her support vehicle and comfort zone. About 15kms down the road Lindsay came and ran with D for a while. It was good for her to have some company on the road other than me and it help keep her mind off the worries of her dad who still isn’t out of hospital and now the added stress of the caravan. Lucky the caravan could be fixed so we could bring it to Deborah for the evening stop and with a new part ordered that will be delivered further up in our travels all will be well with my pink home soon. What wonderful people the team at Regent and G & S Chassis who from Melbourne organized everything and come to our rescue, a huge hug and sloppy kiss from me. When our home finally did make it to Deborah she was very tired as she hadn’t stopped or sat down all day due to not have the van so I have put her to sleep and are off to bed myself.

Running with you soon
