Short Day. Day 95, 24.4km  (1/27/2009)

To help rest D the Running Pink team decided to allow her to sleep in a bit and we all woke around 7.30am to have breakfast and D had a chat to Becky, Mick and on Vibe radio. We then strolled out of the park towards Budgewoi were the great team from Toowoon Bay had organized another caravan site for us.   How lucky we are to have two caravan park nights in a row. No more smell D! To help rest D’s legs further the Running Pink Team decided that we were only having a short running day with our daily kilometres reaching just over the world record minimum of 20kms. This short day is in the attempt to try and have more rest time as D continues to be on the road longer hours due to her walking more of the distance in her daily running schedule. I had great fun today cooling off from the heat by jumping off The Entrance Bridge and swimming over to the other side of the Tuggerah Lake estuary. The only problem with this little adventure was the saltiness of the water. I have a habit that when I am in water of drinking and swiming at the same time but this water wasn’t quite like the rivers and dams I swim in at home in was sea water so I had a little tummy upset after my swim. My loving D gave me lots of fresh bottled water to drink and after a wee rest in the car I was okay to run the last “leg” on last legs of the day. Tonight we are camped in the caravan park by the lake at Budgewoi having pizza, a little treat from daddy as it’s his last night with us, it’s a small gift to D as he is leaving tomorrow.

Running with you soon and here’s hoping D will be too.
