Aussie, Aussie, Aussie! Day 94, 45.6km  (1/26/2009)

I’m a proud Australian dog today! I love Australia day I spent the day shouting Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, woof, woof, woof! What a wonderful country I live in, to let me a little Tassie dog run around this country with no fear of being harmed or discriminated against (except a few caravan parks) and no one can invade my space. In this country I have the freedom of public barking, you call it speech, I can put up my paw and vote, and I feel it’s always important to vote in the right person in charge of dog biscuits. In Australia we have the diversity of many different dogs from many different countries that contribute to our great dog society and our country, environment and beauty is the envy of other dogs around the world. Go Australian go! And what a fabulous day we had today, I started my day with crumpets and vegemite and D and I ran into Gosford to a street lined crowd of people cheering us in, we were then ushered onto the official Australia Day stage with an interview with the Gosford Town Crier and then an official greeted into Gosford by their Mayor. D and I were overwhelmed by the support of the Gosford community and were proud to be part of their Australian Day celebrations. What a great day and all Australian being the original, new, old, young, black, white, yellow, pink, polka dot, striped, should stand up with pride and celebrate this great land on this great day.

Running with you soon with my Aussie flag.

PS. One of the best things about today was after almost a week of being refused entry into caravan parks, the wonderful team at Toowoon Bay caravan parkoperation under the banner of the Australian Tourist Park Management see for these great parks, allowed us to stay. Not only did they allow us in by they extended their hospitality to D by giving her access to a cabin that had a spa bath in it. What a great help this was to D’s ever present leg problems, to be able to soak in a spa bath and rest her wary legs. She said it was heaven and that the park team are angels. A big thankyou from the team of Running Pink for putting a smile on our D’s face.
