Running a state in a day, Day 71, 66.3km  (1/3/2009)

At 8.30am this morning D and I crossed the border into the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) then 12 hours later we crossed the border again into NSW where we are camped for the evening therefore today we ran the length of a state in 1 day. Now how many dogs can say they have done that? And we didn’t just run any state but the capital and heart of Australia where all the “big” decisions about the how, what, when of Australia are made. It was a great honour for this little dog from Tassie to be standing near the hub of Australia. Check out the photo of D and me at parliament house.
Who would have thought that I would be here? It’s a great day to be an Aussie dog; I feel a sense of pride to be an Australian and want to wave our flag. We live in a great country where I have the freedom to sniff the land and put my paw up to give a helping hand.   To those that need a cure we offer are support, by running around Australia so there is no time for negative retort.

Running with you soon.
Maggie – Director of Greeting D.O.G
PS Deborah just wanted to give her warm thanks to ultra friend Phil Essen for coming down and saying hello, it’s always great to see you and to running Neil and his daughter Jemma for dropping in whilst we were running into Canberra.
