Up and down, up and down. Day 64, 51.8km  (12/27/2008)

We started our 10th week on the road today and I watched my D be on another rollercoaster of hills as we ran from Merimbula to Bermagui. Yes folks we are now in NSW! I forgot to mention yesterday as I was talking about the gifts of Christmas that on Christmas day we cross the border where my good friend Cheepa visited us as a special Christmas gift. Thanks Cheepa we do know what a star studded life you lead and we are grateful when you visit us. Check out the photo. Today’s hills coupled with the very steep camber of the road haven’t really helping D with her recovery of the shin splint that she insists Santa gave her. Despite the terrain and the pain Deborah did manage to clock up over 50kms which is not bad considering at about 2.30pm a huge electrical thunder and lightning storm passed over the area which saw D and me run for the cover of our caravan. We both agreed that being outside on top of a mountain with no trees around you in a summer electrical storm is not the wisest of moves so we sat about in the safety of our pink Regent home for 1 hour whilst in passed over.  D hates sitting around as she wants to use every minute of the day to catch up with her lost kilometres. I still don’t understand how one can lose kilometres? It’s a mystery to me and I did say to D that sometimes in life you just have to sit and watch the world go by. For D today was a day of pain, rain and kilometres still to gain, I think D must be insane and it’s now time to go brush my mane.

Running with you soon.
