Massage on the road side and a walk with a friend. Day 54, 57.7km (12/17/2008)

Over the last week Deborah has been having trouble with her right leg; she has been experiencing a lot of cramping and pain and finds it very hard to sit for any period of time. It’s all to do with lactic acid build up and her body not being able to get rid of it. Deborah being the girl she is hasn’t really said much but I could tell she has been suffering as her running “gate” over the last few days has been getting shorter and shorter. I was concentrating hard on how I could help her when D received a phone call from Michael an expert on ultra marathon run recovery who lives around the area we are running in and stated that he was about to leave his house to drive down and see D. About 2 hours later, 15 kilometres from Sale Deborah is on the side of the road laying face down on a massage table receiving much need treatment for her leg, all because I manifested help for my D so she could continue on. After the roadside assist Deborah ran a very quick 15 kilometres to the Gippsland Centre in Sale where she was greeted by council representatives. We were scheduled to stop in Sale over night but D decided that she would run on as she had over 70 kms scheduled for tomorrows run. We were leaving town about 5.30pm when D friends, Dianne and Graham from around Maffra pulled over and Dianne and D spent the next 5 kilometres walking down the road and catching up on “girly” stuff. It’s always great to have friends drop in as it really lifts one’s spirits. As I write this the rain is starting to drizzle onto our pink caravan roof. I do hope that it clears by morning.

Running with you soon.
