Lots of official duties and a garden party. Day 16: 38.8km  (11/9/2008)

Today I spent the day in and out of my official uniform, my pink meet the mayoral robes also used for press conferences, paparazzi and formal public appearances. We spent more time today talking than running as we meet the deputy mayor of Ulverstone, and the mayors of Burnie and Waratah – Wynyard. I like to express that all these wonderful officials are canine friendly and gave us a wonder welcome into their communities. We did manage between cappuccinos to clock up over 38 kilometres; however we ended the day a little short as we need to be at the Two Oaks Cafe, in Somerset for our gala fundraising garden party. Wayne at his staff at the Two Oaks Cafe/Somerset Caravan Park raised over $570 for our cause through a fun afternoon of wine, food and music. From all the team at Running Pink and myself we thank you from the bottom of our hearts it your kind of effort that we make our dream of raising over $300,000 for the NBCF possible. By the way if you are in Somerset with you wee caravan do stay at Wayne’s Park as it’s a beautiful tree lined environment and allows my fellow four legged friend to be there. (That’s my free plug for the week)

Running with you soon
